Other stuff
(Like my education, volunteering, and other leisurely activities)
Education
Bachelor of Arts, McGill University
My work experience was shaped by my educational background in the social sciences. I specialized in empirical political science and 20th century US history, specifically seeking to understand the effects of media on collective and individual understanding of current events and political identity.
However, you definitely should not expect me to be your history ringer for trivia.
Volunteering
I try to support my community by getting involved in organizations that support young people through education. Specifically, I like to share my work experience with BIPOC youth - especially those who may not have as much exposure to careers in design and professional services.

Reading
I love to read essays and memoir by women of color and literary fiction. My other fave reading topics are internet culture and media, innovation in CPG (specifically retail, snacking, and beauty), pop culture (except Bravo, which is my blind spot), and comedy.
Recent formative reads:
Filterworld: How Algorithms Flattened Culture, by Kyle Chayka
Saving Time: Discovering Life Beyond the Clock, by Jenny Odell
Comedy Book: How Comedy Conquered Culture and the Magic that Makes it Work, by Jesse David Fox
Can’t Even: How Millennials Became the Burnout Generation, by Anne Helen Petersen
(You can keep up with my inconsistent reading progress on my GoodReads.)
DIYs and Crafts
One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned in my adult life is how to create for the purpose of leisure and not productivity or perfection. Through the pandemic, I discovered the satisfaction of building Lego and painting by numbers, and realized that I could enjoy the process of creating something without needing to worry about the quality of the outcome. Since then, I have conceived of, planned, shopped for, created, abandoned a number of janky crafts (some are cute!) and I’m almost always rotating through the supplies in my overflowing craft closet.
